Volunteer experience

Volunteer reflection

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always volunteered. Before I was able to work my parents told me volunteering would be a great way to develop work ethic, a network and learn valuable skills to make myself more employable. In high school, I was a part of the “double-cohort”, along with being the first year two grades would finish high school at the same time, they also added 40hours of compulsory volunteer work in order to graduate. I recall a re-positioning of my volunteer perspectives in high school. I realized I had skills to offer as a volunteer and shifted from a purely learning through volunteering position to a hybrid learn and give back what you can model. This approach has been fundamental in my life, when I moved back to Canada with a guilty conscious from working in the mining sector I leaned on volunteer opportunities to find myself, re-orient, re-develop and eventually shift my career. The volunteer experiences listed below are my most recent projects. I’m currently open to joining advisory boards.
