My name is Raoul Tan-Yan, I am a Senior Policy Analyst with the Department of Health and Wellness.

This professional portfolio reflects my passage as a professional, my path as an educator and journey as a lifelong learner. It also includes a section with a comprehensive curriculum vitae summarizing my various careers illustrating the common theme of adult education and community development. My about me discusses my life trajectory in further detail and my practitioner experience in adult education and community development through a social justice lens. My interests in adult education and community development haven’t always been in alignment with my career aspirations. Historically, I didn’t prioritize this alignment for my career, I kept it separate and led a double life. The last few years I’ve been consciously making choices aligning my career and my passions. Lastly, this profile also illustrates my philosophy of adult education and the importance of experiential learning and community development through empowerment and social justice.
